For me, I ended up making an attachment for mine so that I could use them with a bigger-thicker speaker stand, that was less apt to get knocked over in the wind. You'll also need to come up with a 12 volt battery to use with them unless you intend to have them plugged into power all the time. Now the good part: They are SUPER bright. Operating the remote is fairly intuitive. BTW - * I had a remote come in that didn't work, and they replaced it for me. They have a clean, nice look to them and the construction is pretty decent. If they fall on the end pretty hard the plastic end cap will crack, but so would about anything else you would buy in this range. The display is visible, the actual casing very sturdy. I had to get an external battery with it and an inverter to get power for the clock but it worked great! If you are a meet director save your money (prob over $500 tbh) and buy this and try it out. Tweak with it and you'll find settings that are useful.
