Great sound
I'm writing this review after 2 years of owning it. This unit is fantastic! I don't often ride with other people so I knew I didn't need the mesh system. I mostly got it so my wife could call me when I'm on the bike and not worry that I didn't answer. I'm sure we've all been there "I'll only be out like 2 hours"....6 hours later you're still out riding and lost track of time. Sound quality is absolutely fantastic! I have this mounted in a shoei that's not loud but not quiet either, but this unit is more than loud enough for music, podcasts, gps lady, phone calls you name it over the wind/road noise. Super easy to set up, super easy to maintain. Battery life is amazing! 2 years of nearly every day using this thing and it's still going strong. I charge it about every 2 to 3 weeks depending on if I take any weekend rides or not. I usually don't run music in it the whole time if I'm on a long ride, but that's because my phone won't last, not to do with the unit not lasting. The unit is on the whole ride though incase i get a call. Radio works just as good as a car radio. You have to remember what each button does on the unit, so that's kind of a bummer if you don't have a phone mount, but it's really no big deal. Connects automatically to my phone. If you have a pan America, it connects easily to the bike as well. I took it off that though and just go through my phone because it's not my only bike, but the controls on the bike work well to control the unit. Just annoying to connect it to the phone again when switching bikes, so I just leave it connected to my phone. Oh and being water resistant is the main reason I picked Cardo. I've been in some gnarly weather, and didn't even have to think twice about the unit thankfully because I was more worried if I'd make it through the insanely deep water in the road. Had a day a couple months ago where the water was over my pegs on the Pan am. Couldn't believe it was that bad, but I didn't really have a choice as there was no where to pull over so I had to keep going. This thing didn't even bat an eyelash. Just kept me entertained till I got home. Called my wife to warn her without taking the helmet off too as I was soaked through all my clothes, even my waterproof jacket. Highly recommend this thing.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Sound, Easy Installation, and Seamless Connectivity!
I couldn’t be happier with this purchase! From unboxing to full setup, everything about this device has been smooth and hassle-free. Setup & Installation: Installation was a breeze—took just a few minutes to get everything securely in place without any issues. The instructions were clear, but honestly, the process was so straightforward that I barely needed them. Connectivity & Functionality: Pairing with my phone was completely seamless. The Bluetooth connection is rock solid, with no lag, drops, or frustrating reconnections. Calls come through crystal clear, and the controls are intuitive and responsive. Sound Quality: The sound is fantastic! Whether it's music, calls, or navigation prompts, everything comes through crisp and loud, even at highway speeds. The balance between bass and clarity is impressive, and I’ve had zero distortion or muffled audio. must have for the bike
I purchased the Cardo FREECOM-X, and I am absolutely thrilled with its performance! This communication system has truly enhanced my riding experience. The sound quality is crystal clear, even at higher speeds. Pairing it with my phone and helmet was incredibly easy, and the Bluetooth connection is stable with no dropouts. I also love the intercom feature, which allows me to communicate seamlessly with my riding buddies, and it works well within a decent range. The battery life is impressive, lasting through long rides without any issues. The controls are intuitive, and I find it easy to use even while on the move. Overall, the Cardo FREECOM-X has exceeded my expectations, providing a smooth, hassle-free communication experience while riding. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality communication system for their motorcycle!

I like it it is very good
The cardo is a great product. Love it. I get upset with my self when I forget to charge it. With this fantastic piece of equipment I can listen to music and talk with my friends Wile riding. I like the sound and the ability too listen too music but my only issue with this product is that there is no base witch isn't that bad but every product like headphones or earphones have base this one has none. Cord management within the helment it's good and I have no issues with feeling cords... usually sometimes a cord I will be able too feel and it's really uncomfortable when that happens but it's an easy fix. Controlls are nice and easy with a single tap for skip and a 2 tap for previous song. I thank for the value if I were to get this again I would spend the extra and get the one that can connect too more people at a time I find myself riding with more than my one other friend at a time. When I do connect with my friends sometimes it disconnect my Bluetooth and I cannot reconnect without cutting the device off and back on. But other than that I can connect with ease and it always reconnects when you first cut the device on The range is nothing to rave over but it is more than enough a person that you are talking too can full send for maybe 100 feet and you will still be able too here them aslong as there's no cars around too block the symbol.

We speak easily to each other as we ride
It’s so much more fun to ride our bike together now that we can speak to each other. Most of the time we are quiet and enjoy the peace of the ride but if we do need to talk to each other, this system makes it easy to hear each other. We have had the system for months now and have talked so little that we have had to charge it only once. Ha! But when we do talk to each other, we plainly hear one another. It’s perfect. The system is easy to use and setup. Don’t hesitate to buy this.

Coming from old Scala Rider G4
First new headset in years and these are amazing! Updated software after charging, bench tested working and started install. These have to be exactly on your ears to get all the great sound. They're a concert in a shell. The wheel has a great feel and is easy to find but has a delayed response, I'd guess it's a software prompt. You can just Bluetooth these to your phone for calls/GPS/music or the Android app offers big, easy buttons like Android auto/car play and accommodates Pandora or any 3rd party music app as long as you open it first. The app has radio presets and honestly works very well. The JBL speakers offer great sound across the spectrum, even bass tones but no speaker rattling power thankfully. The only downside so far is the speakers are thick (and broad)! My modular flip helmet has no pockets for speakers so these caused incredibly awful pressure just in test fitting. It took several tries to make sure I had the speakers in the absolute best spots. Then I traced and dug pockets out of the foam very, very carefully a little at a time until perfect. I found a steep bit made a sharp edged speaker well losing as little foam as possible. Wiring and connectors tucked into the lining at the bottom and can't be felt at all. Not a tough install and no more pressure on the ears. Temple pressure headaches would have totally been a deal breaker. Some of the pics I'd seen made the controller look ginormous and I wasn't really looking forward to that. Thankfully, the size and depth is very reasonable and the jointed adhesive mount plate went on easily. I opted for the boom mic but kept it close to the cheek pad as I'll rarely use it and don't want it in the way of pulling the chin bar down. I hope this helps anyone in the same situation. Enjoy the ride!

As compared to lower cost units
Update (9/17/23): some additional observations from using this for the past 6-weeks : 1) The FM reception has been much better than the cheaper units; I have five FM presets, and most work well; the ability to move FWD and BACK between the presets is very useful. 2) Certain apps do not work correctly, but that may be related to using a beta iOS version (17). 3) If you intend to connect to your phone, it's better to have BT enabled on your phone, and THEN powering on the Cardo; if you do it in a different order, sometimes the Cardo won't connect correctly. Changing rating to 5-stars, worth the extra cost. Summary: I tried the six (6) lower cost units below (most were Vine reviews), and they are all lacking for one reason or another (mainly FM reception and music controls). So after more research I decided to purchase this Cardo Freecom 2x. Use Case: I use this for daily community (solo rider), so I have no need for the intercom function. Primarily use it for FM radio, and secondary for bluetooth playback from my mobile phone (iPhone 12). So the first important feature is FM radio reception and station control, and second most important is playback control. My everyday helmet is an Arai Corsair-X, which is notoriously louder than other street helmets. I also we foam ear plugs, so the volume usually needs to be maxed out, and still sometimes isn't loud enough at highway cruising speeds. Observations: The one feature that sold me on the Cardo system is the over the air (OTA) software update. This is really important because those other lower cost models all had software bugs that would require a firmware/software upgrade to fix (a common problem is play back controls as the iPhone iOS changes). Recommendation: Different units have different benefits and features, best to spend some time researching the feature you need. Pros: Over the Air (OTA) software updates; FM radio presets; JBL speakers. Cons: Cost (but you get what you pay for). Conclusion: At $189, rating this 4-stars (cost). Don't Waste Your Money / Check Out Sena
I bought this Cardo unit because of the endless marketing in motorcycle videos. I have never been so disappointed in an electronic product. First, I received a defective unit. Maybe everything can be blamed on that. The audio was terrible. No bass, even after using Spotify’s EQ to raise the bass all the way up and lower the treble completely. My unit constantly had sound glitches. Temporary audio dropouts. The volume would increase by itself until it was screaming in my ear. I contacted tech support. The first option I was given that “might work” was a factory reset. I did multiple factory resets with no success. The second option was disabling one of the best features. I turned off the automatic volume control, and that stopped the problem. So I had to disable a “feature” just to keep it from going crazy. Another design flaw: the volume wheel is on the bottom of the unit. Do you perform shoulder checks to avoid getting run over? I do. With every left shoulder check, the volume wheel dragged across my shoulder, turning the volume up until the JBL speakers were blasting pure treble in my ears to the point of potential hearing damage. There is nothing like panicked fumbling to turn down high-pitched music in heavy traffic at 70 mph. This design flaw is dangerous, especially for newer riders. At this point, I hated my Cardo, but I did not realize there was a higher-quality alternative. Then came the final issue. My Cardo entered “Rider Aid Mode” by itself. Apparently, this is the pairing mode for connecting with other Cardo units. The normal steps to exit this mode did not work. I contacted tech support again. A factory reset was the only solution offered. I performed multiple factory resets, and nothing worked. So I returned the unit. Then I searched “Cardo vs” and discovered Sena. As soon as my refund arrived, which took weeks, I purchased a Sena unit. The difference was night and day. My Sena unit with Harman Kardon speakers sounds dramatically better. Real bass. Clear audio. No extreme EQ adjustments required. It sounds incredible and has had zero issues so far.

Sensacional
