Another quality Makita tool!
I'm a retired electronics technician and I've built over the past 45 years, a combination woodshop/ machine shop in the basement. I have tools from all the major higher end brands, Bosch, Dewalt, as well as Makita. I've had good success with longevity and durability with all, including Makita. I actually have 10 angle grinders because I'm a bit on the impatient side, especially as I get into my 70's and rather than changing discs from de-rusting or sanding to metal cutting etc, I just have an angle grinder for each type of disc. I didn't have a small angle grinder that took 5/8 inch center hole discs, which I have collected several over the years. I needed a SMALL angle grinder that took 4 inch discs with a 5/8 inch center hole rather than the ubiquitous standard 4 1/2 inch grinders that take 7/8 inch hole discs. Rather than settle for a cheaper brand, I chose this Makita, and never looked back. I's a little smaller than most of my 4 1/2 inch grinders, so slightly easier to get into tighter spots, as well as being a lighter weight, and therefore less hand and wrist fatigue doing larger jobs. It still has the power however, to take on tough jobs. I'm pleased with this tool and recommend.

Best ergonomic grinder by far.
It has the best ergonomic grip to it compared to every other grinder on the market. I’ve owned every single grinder brand, this one wins by a mile. Love the slide switch that stays on until you slide it back, way more convenient than the paddle switch grinders that are too bulky and feel clunky. It also has taken a ton of abuse including falls from ladders and still works perfectly fine.

Excellent Product. Worth the money
Worth the money. I've had a Makita 4" grinder for years and loved it but it finally wore out. This new one is taking up where the old one left off and with a lot of new improvements. Very pleased

Light Weight Workhorse
I needed this to prep (flap sanding) wood siding for staining. Working on a ladder, the light weight makes a huge difference. Definitely a workhorse, but particularly nice where a heavier model would make your arms burn in a hurry.

Powerful
Great angle grinder. Worked well for tile and metal.

The button is hard to turn on
Takes a lot of pressure to turn the button on and lock it in the place after that it’s all right. Grinder self is very good.

So good we bought a second one!
This tool is the replacement for one that we've had for over 20 years. It's a newer model of the same tool, and has a couple upgraded features that our old one didn't have. * The guard installed easily. * The push button "lock" replaced the need for 2 tools to install and remove disks. * The on-off button took a little getting used to from our older model, but is easy to use. It locks in the "on" position for extended use, but flicks back off easily when you need to shut it down. * Overall weight of this tools seems a little heavier than our old model, but it is still manageable for all day or extended use. We used it for about 2 straight hours right out of the box. * We've used it with cutting and grinding (flapper) wheels so far, and it holds the wheels tight and true. * This does come with an optional side handle handle (we have not installed or used it. If this one lasts half as long as the last one, we'll be happy!

I had this model previously to now and I put it threw hell and it lasted me right around 13 years. So I definitely bought another. But I paid about 35 dollars more back then Durable long lasting. Worth the money any day.
