The Hohem iSteady Pro 4 is a compelling 3-axis splashproof stabilizer designed for a wide range of action cameras, including the latest GoPro Hero models (13/12/11/10/9/8/7/6/5/4/3), DJI OSMO Action, Insta360 ONE R, and Sony RX0. After putting it through its paces, it's clear this gimbal offers a lot for its price point, making it a strong contender for action camera enthusiasts looking to elevate their footage.

I saw this revewed by a couple of creators on Youtube, and for its price decided to buy one. It definitely improved my camera work, and for its price I confidently recommend it. My only criticism is that you have to insert the camera upside-down in order to power it from the gimbal, and which makes powering the camera on/off inconvenient. But apart from that, I throughly enjoy it!

It works but I took 1 star off because it has issues connecting with my GoPro and I only took 1 star off because I don't know whos' to blame, the iSteady or the GoPro. Sometimes the 2 well connect automatically as advertised but more times than not I need to go into the connection settings of the GoPro and remove and then readd the Isteady for them to connect, it's an annoyance that I have to deal with every time I turn the device on. Aside from from that I like the device. I can use it to change camera modes and start/stop recordings. It comes with case. It also comes with legs to sit it on a table, I guess, but not sure why you would buy this device for any other reason than holding it. Stabilization is pretty good but it could be better. Overall I think it's a decent device but probably should cost a little less.

So I admit I was kinda dumb. I couldn't find where it said to attach action camera and the shake of the gimbal goes away. IF YOU TURN GIMBAL ON WITHOUT CAMERA ATTACHED IT WILL SHAKE AND SOUND LIKE THE MOTORS ARE GRINDING. Attach the camera and all that goes away. I thought my first one was defective and returned it, only to learn from the replacement gimbal that it was never actually broken. Thank you to the company for sending a new one in record time! It’s a great gimbal for my GoPro 11!

Had problem after problem with this stabilizer. I read the manual then watched youtube tutorials. Was able to offline calibrate it just fine. But could never get it working after multiple hours. Dealbreaker issues: * It only turns left half the time. And usually half the speed of turning right. * After connecting to the GoPro wirelessly, it cannot start / stop the shutter. * Most app features do not work on latest andriod, including updating firmware. Through the app itself I could not control any of the moment, and funny enough only the shutter. So between using the app and the gimbal at the same time, it was almost usable. Except not able to turn left of course. The overall construction actually seemed well made. And I wouldn't normally even want to use the app with it. However I'm guessing to work with GoPro 11 it needs to update the firmware, which didn't work for me. (It does take a special mode to try and do by holding mode and power button until both mode and bluetooth light are on. I took the screenshot in that mode, and did give the app full permissions. I saw the the same missing versions on that page when not in firmware update mode.) I'm returning this. Maybe version 5 will work out of the box with the GoPro 11.

This gimbal feels pretty sturdy. The HoHem App is responsive and connects quickly. Response between joystick and the gimbal itself is fast. The app offers numerous adjustments you can use for the gimbal i.e. speed control etc. Quick connect for securing your camera to the gimbal frame. You may have issues with how you charge your camera while in the gimbal like if the charge port gets blocked based on how you have to secure the camera to the gimbal. The only disappointing thing is that the listing says the gimbal is compatible with a Hero 3. Well that isn't entirely true. I definitely wouldn't have bought it if I knew you couldn't use the joystick on the gimbal to take photos or stop/start your video. The gimbal works with the Hero 3 but it cannot connect via bluetooth/WiFi to it to use all the features

This gimbal feels nice in your hand… just the right amount of weight you’d expect without being too heavy. GoPro (using GoPro hero 10) connects to gimbal easily. Pairing was also quick and easy. Once set up the buttons and the joystick work as described (read the manual, I’m not gonna tell you how to work it) and I haven’t had any issues. Gimbal functions smoothly. Overall I am satisfied, however I have 2 complaints : 1) the battery door is blocked with the camera in the correct orientation (but this can be fixed by inverting the camera….read the manual) 2) if the camera is inverted, the power button is then obstructed (just mount upright and charge gopro so you don’t need to access charging port)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Für meine Action und Sport-Video Drehs, brauchte ich ein funktionelles Gimbal welches zu 100% kompatibel mit meiner Hero 9 ist. Als Limit habe ich mir ca. 100€ gesetzt, da mir die Halter regelmäßig kaputt gehen (was aber an meiner Nutzung liegt :-D Bislang bin ich mit dem Gimbal äußerst zu frieden. Das Handbuch ist zwar etwas schlank gehalten, was die Informationen betrifft, jedoch ist vieles selbst erklärend. Gimbal + Hero9 +Hypersmooth klappen super in Kombination. Meine Aufnahmen sind mehr als Flüssig und sehen echt klasse aus. Das Menü sowie die Einstellungen sind ebenfalls selbsterklärend. Die GoPro lässt sich direkt mit dem Gimbal koppel, sodass aufnahmebutton usw. direkt am Gimbal gesteuert werden. Der Gimbal selbst wird in einem passenden Styropor-Koffer geliefert, in welchem jedes Zubehörteil seinen passenden Platz hat und beim Transport nicht beschädigt werden kann. Der Griff liegt gut in der Hand und lässt sich Problemlos mit einer Hand Steuern. Die Akkulaufzeit ist ebenfalls gut. Mit einer vollen Ladung komme ich knapp 2-3 Tage hin. Ist für mich mehr als Akzeptabel. Die Servos arbeiten flüsterleise und geben weder Geräusche noch ein Kratzen von sich. Für meine Zwecke hat sich die Anschaffung mehr als gelohnt. Mit einem hochpreisigerem Gimbal würde ich jetzt keinen überzeugenderen Benefit sehen. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a reall good quality gimbal and it works pretty flawlessly. First setup wasn't straightforward but we got there in the end, but once setup the difference it makes to video quality on the move is incredible. The handle feels comfortable, there are several controls at your fingertips to adjust the direction and tilt and it comes with a tripod if you want to set it up in a fixed position and let it track. Price is fair, quality is great and it works brilliantly.
