What is the holding power or tensile strength like? Looking to patch a load bearing torn seam on my heavy spa cover where it folds in half

It would but I don’t know that it would be a good long term solution. I have used a product called Mr Sticky on an aluminum boat and it worked really well

Would this work in a shower tub seam

Might not look as smooth as caulk but it'll certainly do the job.

Can this be applied under water?

I don't know about applying under water, but it is good to keep water out. I had water coming into my basement from a crack in my patio. Put flex tape over the cement crack outside and haven't had any more water seep into the basement and hasn't for several years. Not that pretty, but it works!
