Anyone who experienced the eggs exploding is for some reason removing the top aluminum insert. In the exploded egg review pictures, you never see the top aluminum insert in place. You can see egg splattered inside the top plastic dome cover, but that couldn't happen if the insert were in place. Do not use without the inserts and the eggs will not explode. **Q: how to use it?** A: Fill water up to line indicated (use measuring device included). Lock top onto bottom, place in microwave, set for 9 minutes. Leave in microwave for 2 minutes to cool down. Remove top carefully, leave eggs in and run under cold water for 2 minutes, replace top and shake 10 times to crack shells.
