## Description

AquaVial well water test vials included in the kit detect the presence of these potentially dangerous bacteria before it causes serious illnesses. It is an easy-to-use screening test that can reliably detect water quality issues before they become a serious health risk. Why Should You Test for E. Coli and Coliform Presence in Water?E. coli and coliform bacteria presence in water indicates potential fecal contamination of the water source. Some E. coli strains can cause serious illness in humans. Infection symptoms include bloody diarrhea, stomach cramps, vomiting and occasionally, fever. The bacteria can also cause pneumonia, other respiratory illnesses and urinary tract infections. In case E. coli or other coliform bacteria are detected, the water should not be consumed, and further investigation and testing of the entire system should be initiated. AquaVial is a quick visual indicator of water quality at home or during your travels, at the cottage, on your boat and RV. AquaVial is more reliable that strip tests as it detects live bacteria, and it uses 10 times larger sample volume than the strips. The kit is a great addition to your pool and hot tub water testing routine. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this test show aerobic bacteria ?**
A: This test is specifically for E coli and other coliform bacteria

**Q: Is this a good kit to use to test stream water directly from the stream? Or is there a better one for this purpose?**
A: Should be okay for coliform bacteria sample from a stream.

**Q: Please define "room temperature". If my room temperature is 60 degrees, how many hours will it take to get an accurate result?**
A: "Normal Room Temperature" is approximately 65 to 75 degrees. Set your sample in a room and check it every 24 hours just to learn what happens. The instructions call for it to be read at 48 hours. I left mine after that and continued to check it each day. My first test I did it at about 3 days after we had added our bleach. It stayed yellow. The second test I waited until 7 days after we added bleach to sample the water. This second test was still yellow after 48 hours, however, I noticed it was just a little off color of the first sample so I waited longer and continued to check it each day. I think it was 4-5 days, I noticed that it did in fact turn very purple. Purple or orange indicates the presence of bacteria, but it was a low amount since it did not grow after 48 hours. Disclaimer: I am not a professional.

**Q: The instructions say to not pour the contents down the sink after use, so what is the proper way to dispose of the liquid after I boil them? Thanks**
A: Once you boil the content you can pour down the drain. The idea is not to open the vial and pour it down the drain before you boil the content- as it might have live bacteria in it.
