Hi Sandra- Yes the Bamboo Slate A4 comes with dotted paper-but you can use any note pads you like. I often use Rhodia dotted pads with my Bamboo Slate. The paper has a grid of blue dots and is not lined. The paper pad is from Wacom for Bamboo called "Making Ideas."

It comes with the dots actually. But you can use any paper you want, it just has to have the same thickness as the tablet of paper that comes with it..they give you three tablets
