I did not know I needed this pizza cutter until I used it the first time and was like "so that's what I was missing when I make pizzas"! The handle for the stone makes getting it in and out of the oven so much easier than trying to grab the edges with pot holders.Also, I'd recommend heating the over to a little higher temperature than you normally would for any pizza (homemade or frozen) and then bake a little longer than normal. I had to play around with my set up as my oven is not that great to begin with. Instead of 350°, I set at 400° with the stone already in the oven and instead of putting the pizza right in at the preheat beep, I waited an extra 10 minutes to really heat up the stone. Then I added 10 extra minutes to my cook time. But I decided to take the chance as a Christmas gift for my husband who had just found a hobby in baking.Many reviews say that there are bad chemical smells when they cooked with this baking stone, but we did not encounter any of the sort. We unwrapped it, washed it and let it dry overnight, and baked it at max temperature for a couple hours... as per the directions said. So far we have used it three times to make pizza, and there have been absolutely no smells or difficulties. Baking on the stone made the pizza crust taste absolutely soft and DELICIOUS!!! It's WAY better than cooking on a metal surface, in my opinion.As long as you follow the preparation instructions and the aftercare, the stone should be fine. After the initial wash you want to keep any liquids and oils from touching the stone.
