I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to energy consumption, so in the morning I checked how much electricity it had used during the 12 hours it was switched on. I worked it out at less than 30p electricity for the whole time it was on. This was with temps outside at around 6 degrees. I would also like to add that his room is extremely cold compared to the other rooms in the house, hence the need to just heat his room up. His room is also quite small, about 7m2. So for example: on the first dial setting it turns on when the room drops below 18Β° / 21Β° and the next setting turns on and off to maintain about 24Β° / 26Β° roughly. There might even be a 3rd but haven't played with it that far. The two switches on the power button on the side side (|) and (||) I believe are to do with your power voltage. The first consumes/runs at a lower power rate (which I use as I run mine through an extention lead) but would probably use 2nd switch (||) if I plugged it into the mains. It does explain in the manual which comes with the radiator.
