Are the numerals (1,2,3,4...etc) engraved into the wood or just printed onto the wood?

Hi, there. In this version of our Counting Pegs, the numerals are printed onto the wood. The numbers are big enough for children to trace easily though!

Would 1” felt poms fit in the peg holes? Also, what is the size of the square filling?

Hi there, thank you for the questions! Unfortunately, 1" felt poms are a bit too big to fit in the peg holes, however, they could definitely fit in the bottom compartment. We recommend 1/2" pompoms for the peg holes as the holes are 1/2" wide. The rectangular cut-out on the bottom is 3.25" x 1.75". You can use this space to place the matching square number tile or put a variety of counters/fillers such as beans, pebbles, sand, or rice. Let us know if you have further questions!
