Looking for 10 gauge.** A: The 25 ft extension is 16 gauge, and the battery harness is 16 gauge. So not really a guess that it would be 16 gauge. No way would it be 10 gauge. **Q: is this the same as the mc4 extension cable if i want to run it from my controller to the battery** A: It is simply an 2 prong 25' extension cord with so you can extend the length (distance) way from where ever you plug it into what you wanted to extend. **Q: Can this cable be connected to a 12.5' cable to make an extra long extension?** A: Technically yes it can. However I can't say what the extra resistance will do to the performance. Since I keep my truck in the driveway, I didn't want to keep my Battery Tender out in the weather or under the hood. Nor did I want to run a 120-volt extension cord outside where it could get wet and shock someone. Now, with this long cable, I can keep the Battery Tender mounted on the wall inside the garage and I can run the 12-volt 25-foot extension outside to the vehicle as needed. Of course, before connecting and installation, read the manuals for safety-related information specific to your intended use. As an added bonus of unintended consequences, I can see the status LEDs on the Battery Tender from inside the garage. The cable is built tough: the connectors are attached to the cable well, the insulation is thick, and one end of the cable is fitted with a plastic cover that can be snapped onto the electrical connector to keep it clean and minimize weathering when not connected to the vehicle. SOLAR USERS: This cable is 16 gauge.
