Can I use this with regular toothpaste or just charcoal ?

I use it with regular toothpaste, It is soft and comfortable to use.

Not sure if it's my imagination but does the toothbrush pack without the cases feel firmer? Bristles doesn't feel as soft. Did quality change?

I’ve only purchased the brushes with cases, not without. I absolutely recommend these brushes. My dentist told me to get very soft bristle brushes because I’m an aggressive brusher, not good for the gums. I’ve ordered numerous times and am pleased with the product. Haven’t noticed a change.
