The soldering wasn't too bad, I've soldered before so I knew what I was getting into, the two wires are labeled r and b for red and black, I did add more solder, be careful on this one, I assembled everything and the drive didn't even power on, what had happened was that the new soldered material was touching the metal cover so it was grounded, simple fix, I added electrical tape to the inside cover around the area where the red and black wires are and tested it before assembling everything, it loaded the disc right up. I attached a screenshot of Forza motorsport 5 loading up, there was almost no noise from this new drive. Take your time and be mindful of adding new solder and you should have a working Xbox again. It goes 3/4 of the way in and stops. Unfortunately I can’t return it, because I removed the PCB board from the previous drive and soldered it into the new one. The PCB board is required to read Xbox games. So now I have a drive that doesn’t work, and I can’t return it because I altered the board. I’m pretty sure I ended up with one that was previously returned, and resold to me. I will be leaving this as a one star review until this is made right.
