When I was little everyone in the family used to drop off their tough stains at my Grandma’s house. She always asked what made the stain, if it wasn’t obvious. When I was in college and could no longer get to Grandma’s, I called to ask her what to do about a stain and she turned me on to Carbona Stain Devils! I have been using them for 35 years now. A regular stain spray sometimes just isn’t enough, but these never fail because they are specifically formulated for the particular type of stain. I have only had to retreat a tough rust stain on a white tee shirt with this product once, otherwise it has always worked on the first try. Just read and follow instructions. Remember to check stains before throwing the item in the dryer; once dry they are much tougher to remove. These can get a bit expensive when you have very messy grandkids and you’re the grandma, so I usually try a cheaper spray remover on their clothes first and if it remains this is my go to! I suggest buying a pack with a variety of formulas to start and then replacing the single bottles as you run out.

Very impressed with this stuff. I somehow slept with a pen in bed and got ink marks all over a white duvet. Tried every stain remover I could find before ordering this stuff. I used it undiluted. It took a couple of rounds but it got 95% of the ink marks off. The best part is - it doesn't smell toxic or overpowering. TIP: Use a cotton bud to apply. I dabbed some solution on the bud and then patted/rubbed into the stain. This meant I wasn't wasting any of the solution (the bottle is very small).

Works great. Took out ink stains on the first use.

Didn’t work. A pen was in my daughter’s pen when it went into the dryer. Ink on clothes. Ink on dryer. None of it came off. Not even a little.

Stuff works great - been using it for years on white lab coats and dress shirts. Am constantly getting ink on them. Important: use BEFORE washing - much easier. If the ink doesn't come out immediately, which is often the case if you washed before noticing the stain, let the stained part(s) sit in a small dish or bowl of the stuff. Could be for as long as a week or two if you washed item first and the ink stain has set. Periodically blot and soak again till stain is gone. You can use dish detergent or something like Zout on the stain that is becoming liquified to help blot it out before washing or between long soaks, but do not add any water till the stain has disappeared. Blot, blot, blot till gone, then wash. I have cured things that were incredibly stained, like where the pen leaked and the shirt definitely seemed like garbage with a solid black stain as big as my palm. But warning: the bottle is tiny and not cheap. If the stain is bad you could end up using a whole bottle with the soaking over and over. Still better and less expensive than replacing a beloved garment.
