I struggled to find a sustainable sleeping arrangement with my first baby and I fell into a deep post partum anxiety. I ended up just cosleeping because a friend of mine said she did it and it made her life so much easier. We tried it and it was the only way for my husband, son, and I to get sleep… my son always wanted to be close. I’m assuming my new baby might have similar needs, but I also want to make sure she has her own space now that a toddler is in the mix. My son is two and his crib is attached to our bed because he wants to be close and only sleeps through the night if he’s next to us. (I don’t believe in sleep training and letting your child cry it out). Our toddler climbs onto our bed sometimes in the middle of the night and I know that will pose a danger to our newborn. All that to say, I’m VERY happy I found this bassinet! I know I want to have my baby close by so I can reach over to get her and nurse her throughout the night; but I also will sleep peacefully knowing she is safely in her own space, too. My first attraction to the bassinet was that it was a nice looking one. Most of the other ones on the market in 2022 are kind of ugly. Then, I saw all of the features and I fell in love. It’s pricey but I would say it’s worth it. It took 2 mins to put it together because it was basically assembled. I’m sure it’ll be easy to travel with if necessary. I really like that you can adjust it to your bed height and that it has the option to incline in case my baby spits up a lot. The mesh screen is also great because she can nap in it without me by her side and I can easily check on (or admire) her if I want to just lie next to her for a bit. Finally, the bed straps to secure to the bed are great because I don’t have to worry about my son or anyone knocking it over.
