Most of the time if I get a small, it is super tight, but these were not. Both sizes were really felt about the same on me. If you are 36 around or larger, I would just go with the bigger size even if you have a small cup size. I ended up sending the S/M back just because if they end up shrinking at any time, though they are made from polyester/spandex, I would rather have the larger ones. I live in south Florida, where everything is strappy, low cut and stringy. I have bralettes that dont hold me that well, materials are weird and you cannot convert to crisscross.These mention they convert to crisscross, I didn't really believe it cuz I've heard that before. But I bought anyways.When they arrived, I was impressed by the quality of the materials and the padding - not too thick or thin. When I tried it on, they held me well, and today I easily converted to crisscross. Love that they are low cut, and I get great hold in a soft material.I can now can comfortably wear any of my low cut, strappy, stringy dresses and blouses and not look like a boob trampoline!
