Wow! Not for traditional use on pancakes or waffles, but works wonderfully for marinating, glaze on ham, or in other recipes where you would want a sweet smokey maple. Use this sparingly! If smoke is what you need, this is it for sure. Takes some getting used to, very different than the ordinary. Still good, all natural flavors, you can get creative with it, like chicken and waffles, dip bacon in it, french toast, sausage links, or anything where ordinary won't do.Update: company sent a replacement bottle plus other flavor. Wowed by their customer service and didn't even have to contact them about it, they did it on their own because of this review. We were planning to use this on waffles and pancakes and expected a sweet maple flavor with moderate smoke overtones. Unfortunately the product is INTENSELY smokey in both flavor and smell. The smoke flavor overwhelms all other flavors. Further complicating the issue is that the smoke flavor is not that traditionally appetizing flavor that you smell when meat is on the smoker. It's like a malfunctioning appliance kind of smoke flavor....very chemically and unnatural. I had high hopes for this product, but it is not for us.
