I had a 1" ball valve shutoff to cut off my own water, and to cut the rest of the road off in the event one of them got a leak as most don't have shutoffs. However I had no way to protect the shutoff from immediately being covered with dirt, or protect it. I added one of these and now I can get easy access to both the shutoffs and don't have a big hole in the ground I need to avoid when mowing the lawn. Feels really sturdy. Worth the money imho.
