I walk daily for exercise and I didn't think the Apple adapter would hold up to the constant rubbing and twisting that you get when you carry your phone in your pocket with the headset cord hanging out. I didn't mind the fact that it was only good for listening to audio because that's all I needed for my use case.My advice would be to stay away from this product as it clearly has quality/consistency issues as evidenced by the number of 5 star and 1 star reviews. The example that was sent to me has several issues. It pops and clicks periodically and when it does the earbud volume either changes or goes out altogether. About half the time when I plug it in the phone doesn't recognize it and continues to feed audio to the external speakers. When it does work the housing for the lightening connector and bottom of my phone get quite warm to the touch. I misplaced the small white adapter that came with the unit, not realizing it was attached to the airbud headphone packaging. I bought this.It started throwing static and then the iPhone 7 simply rejected it after going to IOS 10.2. It would just play via speaker and not redirect sound to the headphone jack with this cable. Therefore, I cannot recommend it.
