Is your client causing you additional costs? Learn how to effectively handle construction project variation claims in this easy to read book with no legal jargon. Essential reading for every successful construction project manager.Have you had a legitimate construction variation claim rejected? In the course of most construction projects delays, variations and additional work occur, which give rise to variation claims. These variation claims can be between the owner or client and the contractor, or between the contractor and their subcontractors. Some construction project managers arenโt aware of what they are entitled to claim. Often contractors arenโt granted all the time, or money, that they are entitled to, and frequently many variation claims end in lengthy and expensive disputes where both parties end as losers. Iโve been involved with over 120 construction projects and only a few havenโt increased in value โ with some almost doubling. Indeed, some construction variation claims have been worth millions of dollars. Many of my projects also suffered delays and I claimed extension of time โ sometimes for several months. Fortunately, in nearly every case, these variation claims were resolved and approved amicably. In most cases we received close to the full value claimed or were granted the entire extension of time requested. Furthermore, mostly we remained on good terms with our client and went on to construct several more projects for them. This book uses these real-world examples to help with your construction variation, delay and disruption claims.Itโs important that contractors present their construction variation claims timeously and in a fashion thatโs hard to refute. In this book I look at reasons for lodging a construction variation claims, delay claims and disruption claims, the supporting documentation required to substantiate the claim, what to include in the claim, negotiating the claim, and finally avoiding variation claims. Regrettably many construction project managers donโt understand their contractual rights and obligations. This easy to read book demystifies the construction project variation claims process, ensuring contractors are granted the extension of time and costs theyโre entitled to. Also included are sections on avoiding variation claims from clients and subcontractors Know your rights and obligations in terms of the project contract. Ensure that you submit winning construction variation claims. Check that you have included all of your costs and time impacts. Maximise revenue and don't incur additional unnecessary costs. Learn how to refute variation claims lodged against you. Review: Valuable Claims Writing Guide Highly Recommendable - I bought this book to enhance my claim writing skills. Having been in the contract and claims management profession for several years, I encountered many claims, both written by myself and received from subcontractors and clients. At times, these claims were hard to read and to understand, some lacked even the essentials but the title! The magnitude of poor claims writing cannot be overstated. Most of the books on claims would focus on the ingredients of a claim, but very few indeed give practical advice on actual writing. This book fills this gap so nicely. It is well-structured and clearly written. Step-by-step it takes the reader through the journey of claims writing, carefully considering and illustrating every element and how it needs to be presented. I found this book impressive and comprehensive on many topics despite it being just 190 pages. Now this is a handbook that I consult on a weekly basis to keep my writing in shape. I recommended this book to my colleagues and would surely recommend it to anyone writing a claim or responding to one as a first choice. Review: The Book is Lovely BUT the Print is NOT - The book is very good when it is related to the materials included. Written in a clear language and almost covering all the basics. There is an issue that it seems that the book is designed and formatted to be printed in a large size (A4 or Letter size) but the copy we get from desertcart is in B4 size. This makes the letters very small and not easy to read. You will feel your eyes getting tired after reading few pages. From the Author's video above, it is obvious that the copy presented by the Author is in a larger size. However, I loved the book and hated the print. Many thanks to the Author. 5 stars for the book and 1 star for the size of print.

Worth 100X the Price
I've been working with contracts for years and have found this book exceptional. If you work for an Owner or Contract/Subcontractor this little book is full of great advice. Unless you're a claims expert, you likely have no idea what is claimable or not on a construction project. Often a contract is silent on many items. This book is also beneficial to Owners who are trying to become aware of the areas of risk in a project.

Just go for this one
Just go for this one without thinking twice. So far this's been the single book in the world being practical while others are mostly theoretical.
