The Lid Fits If You Install the Filter Properly. User error here (barring a lid that has been damaged in transit or production)
Just want to reiterate others here who are writing to say that if the lid doesn't fit, it's user error not the Brita design. (I will allow that in some cases perhaps a lid wasn't manufactured properly or was bent in transit). I made the same mistake others did--the first time--because I just put it together quickly after washing the pitcher and lid. But, when the water rushed through the filter area and the lid would not click into place, I tried again, because I knew it wasn't right. If you examine the filter and inside of the filter bay you will see exactly what the problem is--if the filter is not resting fully in its place with the slots and notches matching, it's not sealing the reservoir properly. And the lid won't fit because it will be raised. Look at the inside of the filter "tunnel." See how the cross hatch looks? One side has a long wing of plastic extending up the inside. The opposite side from that you can see a shorter fitting. Then look at your filter. And you can see how there is a slot where the longer wing of plastic can slide right into that. Then position the filter properly, plastic wing in tunnel into long crevice in filter, then push down until it clicks solidly into place. Then gently put your lid on and press softly and let it click into its own slots on the rim of the pitcher. Now you are sealed, ready to fill and the lid will be tight and stay on properly when you are pouring from the spout. One thing I REALLY like about this pitcher (in addition to its smaller size which means it's lighter to lift when pouring full) is that the spout is covered with a flap, so when you are pouring it doesn't come out in a rush and miss the glass like some pitchers with large open spouts can do sometimes if you pour at a too-steep angle. I love this pitcher! The water is excellent, as well. I have my own water distiller machine (it looks like a large coffee maker) and I make one gallon of distilled water at a time with it. But need this pitcher, too, for times when I need to fill the coffee maker or haven't distilled a gallon lately. The water in this Brita tastes the same as the perfectly distilled gallon my countertop distiller makes. And that's saying something.

This 6 cup pitcher much improved over old 10 cup - capacity a touch low
Product: Brita Space Saver Pitchers, White My measurements [approx] Weight [empty, no filter]: 540g [19oz] Weight [empty, with used Longlast filter]: 639g [22.5oz] - this is the normal empty weight Max height: 26cm [10.25"] Max length: 11cm [4.25"] Max width: 24.5cm [9.5"] - from tip of spout to back of handle Total weight at pitcher full [reservior empty]: 2430g [85.7oz, 5.4lbs] i.e. water weighted 1791g [equiv to 60.5 fl oz or 7.5 8oz cups] Due to the design [if fill up to the lip inside reservior], could get another ~250g of water [8.5 fl oz] and would only start to spill when pouring, after putting in yet another 150g [5 fl oz] Maybe I'm slightly overfilling it [I tend to top it up] - 2 complete reservior fills/drains will fill pitcher A 6 cup pitcher to replace an old [6+ years] 10 cup Brita red pitcher whose whose lid too easily detached The new has following advantages 1) Much faster pour: Pouring spout is now much bigger so much quicker when pouring e.g. into larger items kettle, pan etc 2) If tilted the old too much and there was water in it's reservior [e.g. you had overfilled it], then pitcher lid could come off and water everywhere - I usually held the lid, but sometimes forgot. New has the lid moulded as part of the reservior [both old/new have flap in lid you lift to fill reservior with water] 3) Physically smaller & lighter so fits in fridge easier [sorry, forgot the exact measurements of old but empty was ~20% heavier] With old pitcher, due to 1) [slow pour] then tended to tilt pitcher to a steep angle to try to speed it up, resulting in 2) happening even more! The old had one advantage - it has larger capacity [new allows easier overfill to partly mitigate] Compared to some of the other current Brita pitchers, I like that this has a cover over the spout [to prevent debris getting in] and the curved sides look nicer than my old boxy 10 cupper Filter I switched to the blue Brita Longlife filters - unlike the Standard white filters, these claim to filter Lead/Benzene/Asbestos for the same running cost [they are 3 times as expensive but last 3 times longer]. See my review at www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RKPA2EPFPL47A/ref=cm_cr_othr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B01MU7973W The indicator on new pitcher has the longlife setting [hold reset button to change from standard filter] Suggestions 1) Slightly bigger capacity - maybe 8 cups officially rather than my overfill [by making pitcher slightly wider?] Could also increase the height of lip inside reservior by 1"+ which would allow greater overfill without spill when pouring 2) Have a clear reservior rather than white - these look good on other models

⭐️ Easy To Lift & Use
Lightweight. Excellent for Elderly and Disabled. Bought for my old mother who could not lift the larger version, she is able to use this pitcher with ease. Brita water tastes best as it removes the most pollutants, such as fluoride, pfas and chlorine in tap water. Makes a clean water with a fresh taste. I most highly recommend. 👍🏻

Band-aid on a bigger problem, but makes life better
The tap water in my area is grooooss. I didn't want to spend nearly $20 on a water filter because the city is supposed to be providing clean water already. Our water isn't getting any better, so I compromised with my pride/stinginess and bought a used one. Mine has a few little scuffs but doesn't have anything wrong with it besides the common design flaws. It came with a brand-new filter in a sealed bag too. The filter flies out if you tilt the pitcher too much when pouring and the lid doesn't stay on. Sometimes the filter needs to be pushed down to ensure a good seal. (Should only see water coming through at 4 points when filtering.) It doesn't easily fit in my fridge. It's generally annoying and I would be mad if I'd paid full price instead of getting the used one. However, it does filter the water well and the difference is like night and day. Before I had the filter I would stay dehydrated instead of drinking the smelly tap water. Now I don't have to worry about that... guess I can focus on worrying about our crumbling infrastructure instead. Ahhh. I'm giving it 4 stars because it's worth buying at the used price. I think I would give it a 3-star rating if I had purchased it new.

Favorite Brita filter to date
Favorite Brita filter to date. Older model Brita filter was larger than needed and had paid its dues. It was probably way past time for replacement. This one is small enough to easily fit into my fridge. Easy to fill with a built in filter monitor that gives auto updates with each fill, no button pressing required. Functionally there shouldn't be any difference between this model and my previously owned older model but somehow the water just tastes cleaner. Can't explain that though due to using the same model filters. If I had anything to critique it would be the hinge flap for the spout portion. The plastic rod for securing it is just slightly too short and the flap hinge can easily fall right off if you touch it even slightly. I get around that by just not putting my hand where the water comes out and problem solved. A really great water filter/pitcher purchase for the price.

Small but hey, it's a space saver. ..
Who doesn't like filtered, fresh water? This little guy (remember it's only 6 cups) is perfect for fridges that are small or stuffed to the gills with leftovers. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a large family since it is smaller than the ones you see in retail stores but it is sufficient for the college student or those who don't drink a ton of water each day. The filteration system works well. We don't have public water so to drink from the tap will literally gag you. But drinking from this pitcher, it tastes just as good as any bottled water out there and that's using our tap water to fill it! Saves you money with buying bottled water and of course the environment by flooding landfills with plastic. Keep in mind that when they say "space saver" they mean "smaller" ...

Perfect solution for water at work!
I use this pitcher all the time at work. I was taking bottles of water every day and that got to be cumbersome. Now I just use this pitcher. It is very easy to keep clean and the filter lasts a long time and is easy to swap out. Perfect for those who want to drink water without lugging bottles around every day.

Don't Flip Your Lid! It Fits!!
OK, I read a lot of reviews about the lid not going on properly and I even had a moment myself where I was like, "The filter is in correctly and the lid isn't fitting! WTF!?" But the filter wasn't in correctly like I thought... Here's what I figured out: First, make sure you line up the groove on the side of the filter when placing it in the pitcher. The bottom of the filter should line up with the "plus" shaped part of the pitcher where the filter sits. You're not done! I did this and the lid wouldn't fit right. Next, you have to make sure to push the filter down in place. Press gently but firmly. It will slide down just a little bit, giving enough room for the lid to fit correctly on the pitcher. I believe most people having difficulty with the lid were doing what I initially did: They drop the filter in place and it looks right. Then they try to put the lid on and it doesn't fit right. It won't click in place. Just be sure to push the filter down after placing it in the pitcher. Now you're good to go. Happy drinking!

Mucho mejor de lo que se ve en la foto
Es el tamaño ideal para la oficina, ya que al ser un tamaño perfecto, ya que al no ser de un litro, 6 vasos, evitas accidentes, así mismo evitas que el agua se derrame y se estanque

Nice smaller Brita water pitcher
I like this smaller Brita water pitcher. It takes up a little less space than the bigger ones we used to have. I no longer drink bottled water as this filter improves the taste of the tap water at home. Definitely the savings in bottled water has already paid for this bottle for this by now. It has helped me to drink more water due to the convenience of having filtered water on hand. Plus it fits the Brita filters we had from our previous pitcher, so that is convenient as well.
