Why Pi?

This was a really good book! It's got a ton of fun information about math and it's not boring, it definitely keeps the kids interested. Especially with all of the cool, colorful pictures. It's fun to have a book lying around that the kids can pick up and read about really useful information, and where all of the concepts of math that we use everyday come from. I was really happy with the seller. It's a used book, but it is in good condition.

Bought this as a gift for my niece who loves to learn, and she absolutely loves it. Skimming through the pages I thought I should keep it for myself. Lots of knowledge and a much bigger book than I expected.

Our six year old son absolutely adores reading this book (and others by the same author) at bedtime. Every page is a fascinating combination of mathematical facts, historical context and interesting problems. The fact that my wife and I look forward to reading it as much as our son does is remarkable. We're buying everything written by Johnny Ball.

This is a very useful book for kids. It helps them grasp key facts by presenting them in boxed nugget format. Instead of boring kinds with too much information the author has done a great job of presenting it in simple paragraphs. Helps kids to understand the context in which various measurements are used and how it evolved over time.

Excellent homeschool resource - Math shouldn't be dry and boring - and it won't be with this book :-) Interesting introductions to a variety of math topics. Also highly recommend G is for Google: A Math Alphabet Book.

Have you ever been so thirsty you could drink a sydharb? Read this book to find out. Cool for nerds and nonnerds alike. My son loves math but even my daughter who could take it or leave it loves this book. Great find for young and old alike, reluctant learners to school obsessed.

A lovely collection of Australian stories with global appeal. These are not too intense for my young and very sensitive child but also not overly simplistic or silly. I find them just the right balance for a child (or adult) who enjoys tales.

We bought this first on our vacation and my kids loved all the short facts, so we brought it in to my sons 2nd grade teacher and she loved it so i took a copy to the principal as well and we ended up getting one for every classroom
