This is a 10G multi gig switch. Works well, plug and play. There weren’t too many brand name choices in the size for number of ports. It is great for small office setup.

Plug and play at 10gb/s. Runs a bit warm so don't hide it under a stack of books.

I have used this switch for the past year, works great. After about a year, 3 of the ports stopped working, but TP-Link's support was excellent and working with them I have a replacement coming. Thanks XANDREX at TP-Link

I recently upgraded my house to 10G ethernet, and it was really difficult to find a simple and silent 10G switch. Most of the 10G switches are managed, or they run hot, and need fans to cool them. I just wanted a simple fanless switch that was speedy and reliable. After much searching, I finally found the TP-Link TL-SX105 5-port switch. It's exactly what I needed, and it's fast and reliable. Pros: • Fast • Silent • Reasonably cool • Simple and unmanaged • Pretty small • I like how the status lights work Cons: • I wish there was an 8-port version that was fanless. • It takes about 20 seconds to boot up. So if you're looking for a fast, reliable, fanless, unmanged 5-port switch, this is a great one to get!

Fanless? Awesome. The issue is that under heavy sustained load, it overheats and stops passing traffic. Requires a power-off cool down period of 30 minutes to start working again. It sits in a room that is never over 72 degrees F. I have it sitting on a metal vented rack shelf, and still had to get a fan to point directly at it so it won't overheat. It's a good price, but at the cost of reliability if you have heavy traffic on your network.

Working well. I used this to run 10g cable through my house to multiple floors. No problems so far.

Completely dark after 1.5 months. Was working fine then just decided to go completely dark during the middle of the night in a cool house. Unit does run warm but sometime during the night in a house that was about 61 degrees, decided to stop working. No lights. No connections. Tested the power supply which was still working. Internet says this model is well know to stop working due to heat or the power supply. After calling two different TP-Link numbers and waiting number 1 in the queue for over 30 minutes, the agent said I could get a RMA and a new one which could take 1-2 months for the replacement and I would have to pay all the to and from shipping costs. The last TP-Link product I will ever buy.

Solid product, really speeds up LAN transfer.

Product itself is simple, sturdy, and does what it says. Unlike some other switches I have seen it has clear indicators (lights) showing link activity and all speeds. The case is sturdy and fanless; latter is unusual for a 10Gbps switch. BUT: no rubber feet (easy to fix, but odd for a “desktop” switch); no grounding point.

Fantastic switch, getting a full 10 gig on all ports. Arrived within time. Gets warm to the touch after a few minutes, but put a old hard drive on it which acts as a heat sink. So running cool now. But, mains power adaptor is a US plug. So had to buy a UK converter to get it to work.

Who are getting the switch I was not getting my full internet speed that I have. I had a 10 gigabit network card but what I was paying for for internet speed I was getting below what I was supposed to get. But after getting this 10 gigabit switch which paired great with my 10 gigabit network card I was getting my full speed for my internet. I wish I had bought this a long time ago. Highly recommend it. If you have internet speeds that are one and a half gig then this is your switch.

This was supplied with a US plug but I’m in the UK so had to purchase a separate transformer. The product is excellent and easy to set up apart from this.

A Plug and play 10x upgrade. Solidly built. Great for my home lab.
