First, I have not received nor do I have any financial interest in this product. I have a garlic press purchased a few months ago and it works fine....if you want tiny pieces of garlic. Seeing the tv cooking shows always shows someone with garlic that has been thinly sliced. THIS is what I wanted so I began the search and found this OXO garlic slicer. Wow! Does the job I've been looking for. The unit is made of a high grade durable plastic that appears will hold up well with use. To use the unit, you place a clove of garlic (peeled) in the top container, place the carrier top back in, and then move the whole unit back and forth across a blade. Slices of garlic come up quite good. And the clove carrier protects your fingers from the blade. THIS is a definite plus. As you get to the end of the clove, you may or may not have a small chunk of garlic left but that is not a problem. In addition, you do use just use the weight of your hand to begin slicing. Neat, quick and to the point. To clean, just uses the sink sprayer but caution.... Do not use your fingers to clean out any garlic pieces stuck to the blade. The blade will samurai your finger tips. And I let my unit air dry. Now for the negatives. First, the garlic "carrier" is free sliding. That is, it will slide over the blade whether you are slicing garlic or not. This then leads to an EXPOSED BLADE which is sharp. Now, since the clove carrier moves freely on the "track", obviously the blade will be exposed each time you pick up the slicer or ??? Plus, the blade is also riveted in so it cannot be replaced. But again, how often would you replace such a blade? I would like to see this same unit with an ADJUSTABLE thickness AND...and a way to literally place the clove carrier over the blade and lock it in. However, since I am an adult and I do cut myself "professionally" every so often, this problem has been solved by my putting the unit in a freezer bag after the unit has been cleaned and dried. The bag keeps the unit clean, protects the blade to an extent, and I don't say bad words because I don't cut myself. Overall, yes, I give this unit a 5 star as I am very pleased with the results I get. The CONS I've indicated may or may not be considered personal preference. IF as a amateur chef, you want lotsa garlic sliced thin, this has got to be one of the better garlic slicers around. I do recommend the OXO unit as a BUY.

a few passes and you're done. Way easier and quicker than trying to slice it thin with a knife. Only downside is it's not adjustable, so you're stuck with one thickness. Would love to see a version where you could dial in thicker or thinner slices. But for consistently fast, even garlic slices, this does exactly what it needs to do. Would recommend if you slice a lot of garlic and want to save time.

Fantastic garlic slicer, does what it claims to do. Nice design to have the slide horizonal click on for safe storage. But it kind of defeats the purpose by not having some click on storage for the presser thingy. It falls out when slightly tipped over and I can see myself accidentally sticking my finger in while grabbing it from the drawer. I recommend storing it with a tape to hold it in place.

OXO garlic slicer is my new favorite kitchen tool. The slicer gives perfectly very thin slices with the double blade, I make a lot of dishes with garlic with this durable in gadget it cuts down the time it takes in the kitchen Very easy to use. Just watch your fingers when using.

Purchased this slicer since August 2025 and it was easy to used, clean and slice your garlic thin until the end. So bought it again for my Mom 👍

Replacing a pampered chef garlic slicer(discontinued). This tool actually is better than PC. Paper thin slices. No waste. Every kitchen needs this!!!

Ein richtig durchdachter Knoblauchschneider! Herrlich einfach und total effektiv in der Handhabung - so macht Knobihobeln sogar Spaß ;-) Das tool ist leicht zusammensetzbar und für's Spülen mit wenigen Handgriffen wieder auseinanderzunehmen. Was mir auch gut gefällt: der Knoblauchschneider kann nach Gebrauch einfach aufgehängt werden, nichts fällt herunter und er ist jederzeit griffbereit. Ich finde nichts, was ich bemängeln könnte! Ein rundum sehr guter Küchenhelfer ☝🏻
