I was super worried about the fit: I wanted the gasket to be tight (which caused me to lean towards the larger width); but, don't expect this product to squeeze much. I'm glad I triple measured the width of the joint before ordering as 1 & 3/8" is VERY different than 3/4" yet, it can be hard to tell. I used a rubber mallet and then a silicone sealant for good measure. But, this gasket probably wouldn't even need the sealant based on how tightly the flaps fit into the crack. And it looks fantastic. Yes, the cost is higher than other products I looked at, but it looks significantly more durable than the other options on the market. And it's far more effective than just squirting a big ugly pile of foam or caulk into a crack.
