It comes from factory with setting that will allow any fingerprint to operate. You have to clear programming and set it up for you. Works fine. We were at our wit’s end trying to keep him in the safe areas in our home, and these locks have solved that problem completely. They were easy to install and program and they have worked very well. They lock automatically which has eliminated the problem of forgetting to lock the door, and since they are encoded to our fingerprints, there are no keys to lose. Occasionally they have trouble reading a fingerprint, but so far that has been due to poor positioning. The sensor does require fairly precise placement of the finger to read properly. My only issue with them is that they make a loud beeping sound that cannot be shut off, which can be annoying.
