would this work for urinal as well as for a toilet?

Yes, the handles for urinal flush valves are interchangeable with water closet flush valve handles. This Zurn unit works with both.

Will this work with a Delaney flushboy urinal?

Yes this item should work. I have use them with a few different brands and models of flush valves I cannot guarantee it will work but they are pretty universal might be best to do a little more research

does the toilet seat being in the up position either hit this device or interfere with its operation??

We installed it on a urinal, but the sensors range is fairly short and it is unlikely to register someone standing in front of a normal toilet with or without the seat up.

Will this help with my run away Urinal issues? Can it fail open and flood the urinal? My current manual handle seems to stick and flood.

It may. Have used these auto flush over 2yrs. in this very busy retail store. Have had two devices fail causing continuous flushes. Did return faulty units and re-ordered additional ones. No further issued encountered.

Here's a picture of model numbers and what they mean

As many other reviews said it's very easy to install if you know lefty loosey, righty tighty and own a straight slot screwdriver you can do it. I posted a picture of where to turn off the water (screwdriver) a wrench is included for the unit and will remove the handle. I included a picture of the box because I could not tell the difference between model numbers for the price. This particular one seems to be the best deal to me. And it works too, urinal flushes as you walk away.
