I could press R2 and R1 at the same time, and both would register, but if I was holding onto R2 first and tried to press R1, the R1 button wouldn't depress. It would still detect me pressing R1, but the button wouldn't move at all. The solution I found was to take out the plastic pegs from R1 (and L1) that come included with the mod kit.
