I like to reduce the volume of plastic recycles and, comically, upon opening the box, the packaging's print announced: that it's easy to cut anything you like into small pieces. (I've since learned that in Japan, recyclables, kept to a minimum, are commonly carried in small portions to collection points rather than stored at home — space being at a premium.) Well, this scissor works as advertised: it cuts easily through plastic — and grabs the plastic while cutting due to the subtle ridges along the blade's facing edges; the offset angle of the handle keeps one's hand out of harm's way; and the slide lock works! Also, the adjustable blade opens to a wider width if desired. It slides right through softer plastic packaging as well.
