Package does come with 6 button batteries for remote and mouse. Remote has forward and steering buttons, but this does not drive like any traditional rc vehicle. These steering buttons are more for show, as this mouse only has two drive wheels and a forward caster wheel that does whatever it wants. If you think you're going to drive straight, you are mistaken. You have zero actual control over where this thing moves. Great for a cat maybe, poor choice for a prank. The remote signal works from about 2' away, and that's about it. So be prepared to be directly next to the mouse at all times.

The remote has to be pretty close to the mouse for it to respond. There is a forward and back control button, but it doesn't move straight.

My dog went insane for this! I literally could not show it to him without him going crazy and wanting to break it. That being said it’s not a proper toy for a dog.. but it works perfectly and it looks realistic

We were so excited to play with this with our kitties and it was not what we thought it would be. The remote control barley worked and it only inched at a few inches at a time. We even replaced batteries and it still did not work. We tried holding thro remote far and close and it was almost. We were thinking it would be a good cat and mouse game where the mouse would be able to run away from my cats. Negative it was like the mouse was twitching which intrigued them, but then would just start at it.

Batteries lasted all of 30sec and does not do well on uneven ground or perfectly smooth ground

Product provided about 3 days of joyful mayhem for my grandson as he terrorized the cat. He took it home and it was reported that the "remote was lost." Grandma and I giggled and are planning our next move.

The joystick was super hard to use, especially because it wouldn’t simply go straight. Also, the wheels were getting caught in any little piece cat hair and would stop moving. Don’t recommend, I returned it.
