Superman: The Complete Animated Series (Blu-ray)

If you enjoyed the Batman: the Animated Series cartoon, then you will probably also like this cartoon series as well. This Superman: the Animated Series came out when the Batman animated series was in season 3 and had the animation style change (which a lot of people didn't care for). I actually enjoyed the change of pace, and enjoyed the new Robin (Tim Drake) and darker tone of the final season. Anyways, This show's animation style is the same, and the cool things was the crossover of some Gotham villains and Batman cameos (with the Batman/Superman animated movie featuring prominently). That movie was actually just a few of the Superman animated series' episodes strung together for a separate release. It was cool to see the two powerhouses of DC be on screen together in animation, and this was really the beginning of the much larger crossover universe that DC has become known for and Marvel took a page from for their live action movies. This show has 3 seasons, with a wide variety of villains, many challenges for Clark/Kal-El/Superman to face, and it actually makes Clark a likeable and interesting main character, which has always been difficult for writers of the Man of Steel.

My favorite cartoon series and this is one of the last superhero cartoon series I ever watch nice to have them on my collection

I'm very happy with the quality. Very nice packaging and the picture quality is amazing. Mine came with nice slipcover. All episodes included and the bonus features are very cool. If you ever love this show back when it aired, this is a dream package. Get it. Digital code doesn't work, sucks.

Great blu ray for any collection.

My friend loves movie because he loves Superman. A lot cause of his childhood. Somebody really enjoys Superman, movies and stuff.

First of all it has to be said that this blu-ray and others from Warner Bros are free-region, so you can play it without any problem, as in my case here in Spain. What can I say about this TV series? Is just breathtaking. Following the Universe which was built in Batman The Animated Series, this Superman show is also a great one, with excellent character writing, a good narrative, amazing portrayal thanks to different actors and actresses, such as Tim Daily as Superman, Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor and Dana Delany as Lois Lane. Despite being a great show, is not as good as Batman, but is an excellent one and the first introduction to the DCAU, showing other known superheroes like Aquaman, Flash, Green Lanter, an even Batman himself. Talking about the bluray, is the definitive edition of this series, which has an amazing color and sound restoration, and even more, a plenty amount of extras to enjoy watching this show greatness.

Writing for Superman is a very challenging task for just about any decent comic book writer, compared to Batman, whose villains alone helps create the plot. However, Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and Company were up to the task, making the excellent "Superman: The Animated Series" really enjoyable. Superman is de-powered somewhat in this series, similar to what DC Comics was doing to the Man Of Steel at the end of the 20th Century, but it helps keeping the viewers involved in the Last Son of Krypton and his adventures, a brilliant idea that works with the show. Overall, this Blu-ray set is safe for all ages to watch, with no objectionable content on any of the episodes, and it works as a bookend to the DC Animated Universe version of Batman.

No llega a la altura de la serie animada de Batman pero está muy cerca. La edición del bluray viene con audio latino y subtitulos igualmente en todos los documentales. Una buena edición para el mejor superhéroe.

Die Serie ist sehr gut. Die Dialoge gut zu verstehen. Leider gibt es keine deutsche Tonspur, aber WB ist wohl an deutschen Fans nicht mehr so interessiert.

I have been waiting for this to happen since I first watched the show way back on TV in. The 90s . Unfortunately they stopped airring too expensive for UK broadcasters I believe . But flash forward to now the show stands with the Great Animated Batman series and even crosses over with both shows . Entertainment 10+ Value 10+ Video quality 10 + Sound 10+ Every episode is captured here lovely restoration shows the colour pops and sound design is Steller lots of base for 5.1 surrounding sound . The only down side is the special features not in the Blu-ray quality just bog standard dvd and Even less so . The audio commentary is the stand out for a few episodes reminds me of the Batman series . Package is unfortunately a let down they made a great batman package I guess they ran out of time . 9/10 overall best superman since reeves .
