The Complete Private Pilot (The Complete Pilot series)

I am enjoying 'The Complete Private Pilot' very much. It is clearly written with numerous pictures and diagrams, and easy to study. I would recommend it to everyone that is learning to fly.

Covers all the necessary topics for the Private Pilot Knowledge Test. Does so in a readable and clear manner. Very good value for money compared with the "glossy" training book...and also a great deal lighter to carry around!

I am a novice learner, but this book was a recommendation from a dear friend who is a PhD in Aerospace. The title has never disappointed when it comes to finding facts. The treatment on Bernoullis principle and the lift geenration and air foil design is delightful to go through. I couldnt understand the interplay of Angle of Attach and Speed and lift, from even the stick and rudder title. Excellent conceptual treatment for a class of books which are geared to be operator's manuals.

Excellent overall introduction. USA flying laws a bit different to Australia, but similar.

If you are into Aviation. You will really enjoy this textbook. It has a lot of information that you will really enjoy it! Service was great. Nothing to complain about!

Great way to learn about all subjects within the private pilot certification requirements. You probably don't want to use it solely for reference as it's written like a book. The book is VERY straight forward but if you don't like reading then this isn't the time to try.

I just started reading both The Complete Private Pilot (TCPP) and The Pilot's Manual:Ground School (TPMGS) in preparation to attend flight school. Please note that I have just begun reading corresponding topics in both books. Weights and balances. Both books use an example of an aircraft with differing wing weight loads but making the same 60 degree bank turn. TCPP'S weight example(page 8-2) is 2500 lbs.. TCPP states that under a load factor 2G the gain is only 1000 lbs while TPMGS's example(page 235) is an aircraft weighing 3000 lbs has an additional gain of 3000 lbs under the same load factor, double it's wing level load. Do you see the difference? TPMGS claims it doubles under a 2G turn load factor while TCPP suggests only a 40% gain. Who do I believe? Which book do I rely on for accurate information? Remember, I just started reading these books today. I truly hope this is the only discrepancy I find.

Great book for beginners and intermediate pilots. Love it. Lots of details.

I am currently taking my flight training & Ground school for a Canadian Private Pilot ticket. The Ground School I am attending uses FROM THE GROUND UP as the text... I purchased the COMPLETE PRIVATE PILOT before I registered in the ground school, and so own both texts. This book makes the learning alot easier. As I compare the presentation material, this version if much more understandable, less dry and easier to grasp. Covers all the necessary material (obviously since it is indeed called The COMPLETE Private Pilot)... Recommended for new students and I suspect some experienced pilots who want to refresh or review..

This is a good review for me after 25 years. I liked Bob Gardner's way of reinforcing the information with stories from his own experience. The test are tough.
