Super soft, but you can see through to the fabric below in some places
This bath mat is really soft - one of my major requirements for a bath mat. The chenille feels great on the feet. The color is a deep chocolate brown (my second picture doesn't reflect the color well). I'm not sure what to call the individual "pieces" of chenille, so I'll call them fingers. In places on the mat you can see through the "fingers" of chenille to the fabric of the mat below - the fabric that the "fingers" are attached to, meaning in places the chenille is a bit thin (see picture 2), it could do with a denser amount of "fingers". The mat has a non-slip backing, but it doesn't seem like a very rubbery backing, so I'm not sure yet just how non-slip the mat is. If you're looking for an expensive luxury mat, this is not it, but if you're just looking for an everyday mat that is soft, absorbant and gets the job done at a resaonable price, this mat could be for you. With dogs, cats and grandkids, I'm not looking for high dollar luxury. I just want a soft mat to land on when I get out of the shower.

Love It!
I have two other rugs of this type that I love, so when I had the opportunity to get another one, I jumped at the chance. This particular one is nice and thick and gives enough cushion for my bare feet to stand comfortably on the hard bathroom tile floor, which lessens the impact on my joints. The rug absorbs water better than other rugs I have had before, too. This rug has a solid, dark brown color that is neutral enough to go anywhere - the bathroom, kitchen, or entryway. I prefer to have it where I am standing on it with bare feet because it feels so good. This rug also washes well and fluffs back up. I don't put it in the dryer because I don't want to weaken the rubber backing, so I hang it over the shower rod to dry, and it dries quickly. I highly recommend this rug!
