Can i take two of the boxes and put the wires together to plug into a transmitter at an increased voltage and mah?

The first answer is wrong. Series is when the batteries connect positive to negative, in that situation the Volts increase but the mAh stays the same as one battery. Example this holder: 1.2V 2,500mAh Rechargeable AA * 8 = 9.2V 2,500mAh. In parallel (not this holder), the Volts stay the same, and the mAh increases. Volts would be 1.2V, but 8 * 2,500 = 20,000mAh or 20 Ah.

Does this allow you to supply a lower voltage using fewer batteries, or is it always 12V with all 8 batteries?

Useing all 8 batteries will give you 12vdc. I think you can buy dummy batteries that allow fewer batteries there by reducing the voltage

no. i will have to 3d print a mounting case to attach it to my ardinio controller

Very happy with these units so far. They seem very good quality and durable. A great item to have if you have alot of mini & specialty lights using batteries I recommend these cases for solid replacement or new DIY projects

Do you need 12 volts for something? Do you want to supply it with AA's? Then you're in luck. I have gotten these for two seperate projects. One I powered the cargo light in the camper shell of my truck on one. I'm bad about leaving things on so I didn't want to wire it into my truck battery. The product worked and I've bought enough AA's from leaving the light on that Duracell sends me Christmas cards. So the product holds up decently well. Two I made a display box for my wife to put one of her uranium glass pieces in. I put 12volt led strip black lights in it. She can move it to wherever she wants and display the peice she chooses without dealing with a plug in power supply.
