Works well. Doesn’t fade.

Does very well - it stays on most plastics and an Alcohol wipe does not remove it. So perfect for ear tags. It does not stay on printed circuit boards, so still searching for something that will stick to soldermask (probably need something epoxy based for that). Comes with 2 tips, has a ball type shaker in the pen, but the ink is more like a sharpie and not a thick paint.

Living in the suburbs as I do, I don't cross paths with too many cows, but I've found a great use for an Ear Tag Marking Pen. Do you garden? Do you start plants from seeds in your basement like a mad scientist? I've searched for years to figure out how to mark about 300 little pots of plants to identify them. All ink--no matter how permanent--fades both under fluorescent lights and out in the sunlight. The pen resists fading very well. My only complaint is the point of the pen is not fine like a sharpie. Plus, over extended use, the tip gets flatter and flatter and the ink doesn't always flow perfectly. BUT--most importantly--I can identify my plants beyond the first week or two following outdoor transplanting!

The writing tip falls inside the pen, rendering the pen unusable. This is the second pen I purchased. The tip fell in the first one, and I thought that I must have pushed in too hard, so I purchased a second. The tip fell in as well. I wasn't pressing hard and made about 15 tags. The tip fell inside. Annoying, annoying, annoying.
