It works best in the very first moment you think you might possibly have a sniffle or sore throat, but it can also decrease the severity of a cold if you stay on it throughout the illness. I've always used the blister packs and only recently bought the bottle, and the bottle ones seem to work just as well. Like other reviewers, I'm a little confused about the apparent difference in the pills, blister pack vs. bottle, so I'm going to ask the acupuncturist about it.
