The door on our oven has a spring that is not strong enough to close it properly. I installed one of these toggle latches on each side to hold the door closed properly against the seal. I wrapped a ratchet strap around the oven to force the oven door to be closed properly as I installed the latches. I used thin double sided foam tape to hold the latches and hooks in place while I drilled holes for the sheet metal screws that were included. The sheet metal screws should work fine in wood as well. Drilling pilot holes is recommended in either case. I cut excess foam tape off with a razor blade. The stainless steel matches other chrome fittings on the oven and the latches look like they belong there.

The laches are fine however the screws are not stainless steel and have already Rusted!

I’ve used these for a variety of wooden boxes and they are great latches. They are my number one choice. Very easy to use and reliable.

I like the look and idea of these clasps but because they are spring loaded it’s next to impossible to hold them open to mark holes where they need to be placed for installation. These would work better if a template was provided. They are also very small. Not sure I will be able to use them.

It feels the the screws are made of aluminum. The reason I like to post this comment is that while the latch works fine, you need to use other stronger strews or not to use the power tool. Even if I set the torque of the electric driver to the lowest, the screw snapped inside of the hole, as a result you will not able to reuse the same hole.
