My collection of music CDS goes back decades, within this time span, they were played in auto CD players during both daily and vacation excursions. In today's automobiles, CD players have been replaced by digital music sources and connectivity options like Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Given that my collection contains an expansive variety of musical genres, streaming music seems unnecessary as well as an added expense just to hear music I already own. I decided to purchase a bluetooth CD player and these compact bluetooth Altec Lansing speakers in order to use my collection in our vehicles. Fortunately the player and speakers link as a threesome and sound better than satisfactory. No need for digital music streaming or smart phone integration. The speakers are more than adequate for the interior of a vehicle and are easily positioned since they are compact. The only disadvantage is both the speakers and cd player have lithium batteries that need to be recharged. Pleased with these speakers as they are inexpensive, yet their features and sound are suitable for listening to music in an auto as we discovered.

This small (5"W, 2½H, 1¼D) Everythingproof© speaker is outstanding! Not only is it quite impressive sound-wise (it walks itself across the table without distortion!*), but it also boasts a variety of light display effects. The child in me had fun scrolling through the 12 different settings from Multi-or single- color fades or pulses. This is perfect for the times I don't want to wear earbuds and don't have to worry about disturbing anyone nearby! *while listening to "Angine de Poitrine Vol. II", your results may vary

As others have noted, the unit will store any setting for the colored lights *except* for off. That's kind of annoying. Just set it to the least offensive setting and leave it. The bluetooth connectivity is marginal. With the bluetooth transmitter within 4 feet of the speakers you can expect at least one glitch every 15 minutes. Using true wireless for stereo with two units the glitches are more frequent. Also sometimes one speaker is lost or the delay on the two is different. It does remedy this automatically. Audio fidelity is quite good as a near field monitor. While the bass does not extend very low (as expected for such a tiny speaker) the response is rather flat. I have been using them in the car and the sound quality itself is quite pleasant. The audio quality is far superior to the JBL GO4, which is a similar sized speaker. While the JBL at first listen has better bass, that seems to be an illusion cause by a peak in the frequency response that isn't entirely natural sounding. Worse yet, the GO4's mid range is muddy making vocals hard to understand, and has less high end response than the Altec Hydra Mini. Also note that while the GO4 can link multiple speakers together, as far as I can tell they don't play in stereo. Stereo really is a much better experience so that's another disappointment with the JBL product compared to this. I was surprised and commend Altec Lansing on the good sound quality. Battery life is pretty poor, with no more than 2-3 hours at any usual volume. To summarize, good sound, buggy tech! My guess is that the HydraMini 2.0 solves these bugs and is probably a better speaker and sounds the same. It claims to have a bigger battery. But you won't find it at the bargain discount price of the original.

I bought one of these speakers because I wanted a small speaker to carry around with me during work, I liked it so much I bought another one when I learned you can link the two speakers on bluetooth. When you link these speakers it sounds even better than just a single speaker. You can even notice little details on songs that is hard to hear in other speakers. I have said so many positive things about these speakers, but I only gave it three stars because I have noticed that when you link them sometimes there is a connection issue and they will sound really bad for a few seconds. Pausing the song and playing it solves the issue but it will end up happening again five minutes later and its kind of annoying. I know this will be a fatal flaw for a lot of you out there. I don't know if this is a known issue with this model of speaker or if I got a defective unit. I will try to contact Altec Lansing when I have time to get to the botton of this issue. So yeah if you are buying a single speaker I would give it 4 stars but if you are buying two of them to link together I will go down to 3 stars just because of the connection issue I've had. I have submitted a video of them playing together for reference. These speakers would easily be 4.5 stars for me if it wasnt for the connection issue between two speakers Edited review: if I could give Altex Lansing 5 stars for costumer service I would give them in a heartbeat. They reached out to me and they offered to replace my speakers to see if that would solve my connection issue. Unfortunately the new pair I got still have a connection issue when they are paired together which makes me think this is an issue with this model so Im keeping my original rating. Using two speakers is such an interesting concept because when one speaker plays vocals/treble and the other plays bass drums it makes it sound really good almost like you have a small surroumd sound. If they come out with a new model that solves this issue I will buy it in a heartbeat because I really like how these speakers sound. I think it sounds even better than my harmon kardon speaker which is a much bigger/louder/expensive speaker. In the mean time I think I will give away one speaker and just keep one. I will submit another video when I catch a glimpse of the connection issue just in the hopes it can help altec lansing improve their product

Broke after like a month. It’s a good speaker sound wise ig but i literally used it for like a month and it doesn’t charge anymore. Also battery lasts like a hour honestly

I have quite a few of these actually, and I need them in different places. But this one in particular, I was looking for some thing that I could actually put in the shower and not worry about it fairly inexpensive and they went wrong with it. This thing I did not even worry about it. But I really realize that it was made by the same company as speakers I used to purchase for my car when I did installations for stereos in high school I used to or order the 6 x 9 speakers that they made and they were very good so I thought I’d give this a try. This little speaker rocks and even if you drop it bang it up this is a powerful little speaker it is very watertight. If you keep that plug in the bottom where it’s charged, you will not have any water damage at all for dropping it in the pool using it in the pool. I don’t think there’s any problem with that at all.

This speaker fights above it's size. It is really loud for how small it is. In fact I had it on a solid surface on our coffee table with a full plastic cup of soda near it and when I wasn't looking the bass output vibrated the cup about a foot over and dumped the cup on the floor even though the speaker itself didnt move! It has great tone with serious bass and mid range. Treble is very precise too and will match the out put from your phone or whatever your source is. It connects to your Bluetooth source quickly. It also can put on a Disco light show with choices of alternating flashing colors, a solid color or no color if you want. Be sure to read the instruction sheet in the box for all of that. A couple of reviews complain about the control buttons on top being difficult to press down and they are a bit. I solved that by just using a thumb nail to press down or you could use the tip of a pen if you want. Don't let that minor inconvenience stop you from buying this speaker as you will probably be amazed by its sound quality too.

El sonido del audio es muy bueno, yo la uso al aire libre cuando voy en bici, la batería dura bastante tiempo; puede llegar hasta 5 horas continuas, es contra agua y contra golpes 👍

Tiene poca potencia de sonido. Batería promedio. Buen diseño y calidad de material.

Es muy bonita ,se siente muy bien ,muy reforzada pero le falta potencia ,yo la uso en mi bicicleta y se pierde el sonido en las calles y entre el tráfico más , anteriormente tenía la mini h20 y sonaba muy bien en lugares cerrados si se escucha bien pero para lo que yo la quería me desilusióno
