My keep connect worked great the first two times the power went out, but now it dosen't reset itself. How do i fix this?

Re-set and review your settings by holding down the blue button. Maybe change some of the default settings in the advanced section. You could increase the time to “kill” and “wait”, also Increase the number of continuous resets, I put mine at the max 99. I have a unit in two different states and they have worked flawlessly. How does it check for internet connection? Pings can go through, but not http or https requests.

Keep Connect pings the domains that are entered in the setup page. If if can’t ping either domain or perhaps only the DNS lookup of those domains fail, it tries one more time to ping Google’s DNS server IP addresses directly 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4. Your problem sounds like it may be a DNS problem. Latest firmware allows disabling the direct IP address ping and will therefore reset upon DNS lookup failures as well as ping failures. Message us directly if you would like to update your device to the latest firmware (not yet published) and enable this option.

Does this work and reset the modem after a power outage? I just had a power outage and i waited for the plug to reset the modem, which did not happen.

Yes, Keep Connect will still perform the reset after a power outage. This specific case was discussed via our technical support channel and was quickly resolved by using Keep Connect’s Power-On Delay feature. This specific issue was not typical of most modem/routers and in all cases (except this one) default settings would be sufficient for resetting successfully after a power outage.

Will it keep retrying on a lengthy outage?

Yes it will. There is a configurable setting called sustained outage retry which defaults to retrying every 6 hours for prolonged outages. By default (also configurable) it will try 3 consecutive times before going into sustained outage mode.
