We used spray adhesive, sprayed metal walls, after spray became tacky we pressed the foam against it and it stuck essily. It was also easy to cut/trim. I was worried it would wrinkle the liner, but it did not because we used a shop vac to sucks air out from behind the liner as we filled pool with water. The new pool liner lays flat against the foam, no issues at all and the pool walls look great now that pool is filled.
