I tried to use the glass type insert on the Yama but it would work only 80% of the time. The cloth filters is the way to go. I spray a bit of dish soap on the filter and brush clean with a tooth brush. I've used it for a couple of months with no problems and good coffee.

I didn't think I was going to like cloth filters but wow! Cloth allows oils to pass through like a metal filter, giving a full bodied flavor and mouthfeel, but they also filter out fine particles like paper. I store mine in a jar of water in the fridge if I'm using it daily or in a bag in the freezer if I'm taking a break from the brewer for a week or more. I'm glad I didn't get an adapter for my siphon! I think anything but cloth would have ruined the whole experience.

I have a circa-1900 Silex siphon pot that we use every day. These Hario filters work great in it. I replace the filter cloth every couple of pounds of coffee or if an off-taste occurs.

Does a great job of filtering. Like all parts of a vacuum coffee maker it is hard to clean. Worth it if you like the great taste of vacuum coffee and are willing to go to that much trouble. I think it is worth it. And fun to watch.

No issues at all. Easy to install and are of good quality. Use the siphon coffee maker daily.

Fantastic set of filters. I have a small Hario siphon kit, and these filters feel sturdier and fit better than the one that came with the kit. I'd say one filter seems to last maybe 20 brews, then it can't be cleaned much more past that before it chokes flow, sadly breaking something (live and learn). On a side note, the seller sent a lovely note and small origami crane, which has made me a dedicated customer! Will definitely order again!!

One thing I have learned from using a Hario vacuum pot is that using the cloth filters significantly enhances the flavor of light roast coffees. I enjoy African coffees and using the screen filter makes for a good cup but using the cloth filter makes for a great cup. The fruity flavors are very pronounced. i like using the screen for darker roasted South American coffees.

Me parecen excelente los filtros. No le modifican en sabor al café y además es fácil de colocar. Llegaron Justo a tómelo para el cambio.
