This book was great for my 4 year old granddaughter. She's allergic to horses but absolutely loves them! Gave her something to dream about and use her imagination. Great book with beautiful illustrations.

beautiful, beautiful art. bought this as a gift for two little girls who love to draw horses. The story is also a wonderful life lesson. A stunning example of how attitude in life makes such a difference. The girl in the story wants a pony more than anything but it just isn't possible. Even as she continues to ask, and to hope, she accepts the limitations (the cost, the care and the room a pony would take) and enjoys fantasy adventures with an imaginary pony. Sometimes dreaming and planning can be as much or more fun than the actual experience because the dream is without the effort and the expense of acquiring and maintaining.

This children's story is beautiful! In every sense of the word! The gentle wording, the endearing art and the genuine spirit of this work is magical and beautiful. With just one sentence at the end and so much longing in the art that I was moved to almost a whisper when I read it to my little girl, a reluctant reader. To my surprise, at bedtime, she called her daddy to her to read him this story...it us that endearing, engaging and inspiring. True beauty always is! We have read this book a million times. My daughter has been a horse lover from birth. She loved this book. We started reading it when she was two. The pictures are beautiful. My daughter loved that there was a little girl riding a horse. It was also a gentle story for bedtime.

Very cute pictures and decent story. I do like how the characters desire for wanting a real pony ended with being content with her imaginative pony for now. But I feel like it does blame on the parents (too much money/ no where to put it) other than simply saying maybe when you’re older.

Love this story because it means so much to our little girl. She found it at the library and fell in love immediately. She loves books, fantasy, and horses of every kind. This book has great art and such a wonderful story!
