No, there is no compartment in the handle to store extra blades.

Q: This product says auto-lock mechanism.. does it have a spring that automatically retracts the blade?

No, it locks in place and does not spring back automatically. Our KuttO #30 and MSRZ3 knives are self retracting or the OLFA SK7 is a self retracting knife that we are not currently selling

Q: Can I purchase a pack of knives? Not just one single?

Hello Rebecca,It might work, but for detailed work I'd go with the OLFA SAC-1 GRAPHICS KNIFE.
