Added to my comfort reads❤️
" I think that means the good times are worth a little struggling, don't you?" It Happened One Summer is just not the story of a fashionista and influencer Piper falling in love with a sea captain Brendan Taggart but about so many more things like finding yourself, realizing your worth, moving on, adapting yourself for the love in your life, getting on your feet, learning about responsibilities, feeling at home and loving yourself while loving your partner. They say love makes you do crazy things, I could see Brendan falling head over heels for Piper not because she is beautiful but because of her innocence, the way she used to look at him and made him feel things he never felt before and want to do things he never felt like doing before. She made him step out of his comfort zone and yet made him feel comfortable. I saw Piper falling for Brendan while finding herself in him, with him, being away from home yet at home with him. The characters and story are so well thought and written that it pulls you in and makes you experience each scene from within the world of this book. My favourite thing about the book is how Piper calls Brendan's hug her recharge station ❤️. I really loved reading the book. I laughed, cried, smiled my way through the moments of comfort the book provided me. The book is now added to my comfort reads.

Spice was unnecessary but other than that it’s great
I didn’t like it that much because for me the spice was unnecessary in this story otherwise everything else the storyline is great

Steamyyy
The book was in bad condition, the spine of the book was broken and it smelled weird. Anyway about the book...The book is hot and it's gonnna raise your standard It's a grumpy-sunshine book with fashionista high maintenance female lead and rich hot male lead who does all the maintenance and you will want a man like him in real-life too... And the steamy scenes are❤️🔥❤️🔥

Perfect summer read
This was a hallmark movie in book form. Okay, perhaps that sounds bad to some people but to me, that’s the highest of praise because I’m addicted to hallmark movies. Piper reminded me of Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, her character went through such an impressive and realistic growth throughout the story. Brendan is a grumpy man ready to build a palace for the woman he loves if she asks for it. Or ready to give her anything, really. The story is so sweet and wholesome, with such good spice! The writing is brilliant, full of vivid descriptions that put very detailed images of Westport and of Piper’s gorgeous outfits in my mind. I would definitely recommend packing this book in your suitcase for a light and cute summer read! 🏖

Fun, Sexy and Summery
I get it. I get the hype. What a breath of fresh (and salty) air that was. I loved it. The character growth, the romance and the flow of it all was seamless. The story wasn’t full of massive plot twists and chaos, however it was full of grumpy/sunshine banter, romance, a little (okay more than a little 😏) spice, comedy, found family and personal growth. I sat up till 2am because I had to know where Piper and Branden ended up. I’m so happy with the result, and even more so now I can get stuck straight into Hannah’s story! 🦊 (iykyk) Tessa Bailey is quickly becoming a favourite of mine! I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Yep, 5. Generous? Perhaps. But I just loved how I felt whilst reading it, romcom fiction at its finest.

She’ll shockingly good
Well I’m a sucker. Of course I guessed what would happen early on and the type of ending I would see, it did that stop me being glued to every chemistry filled moment, floaty movement, endearing looks and awkward run ins? Of course not. In the first few page, I was dubious, quickly realising this was the point and there was so much to unravel about Piper Bellinger. When a series of bad decisions sent LA socialite Piper and her dutiful sister to the fishing town of Westpoint, no one was ready for what lay ahead. A burley widowed Captain Brendan fought when a sequinned covered Piper showed up turning his routined world and hometown askew. Piper’s relationship with her sister was truly endearing and a standout in this book. The sense of home as the Westpoint residents were introduced was surprising but made the book all the warmer. I cannot ignore the fireworks, steam and chaos that filled the pages with the battle of wills between a starry eyed socialite and a no nonsense captain. I wish i could articulate the escapism I felt when enveloped in this funny, steamy, heartwarming and empowering book. The personal developments and progression each character made through this book had me hooked on plot and characterisation. Great summer read.

one of the best books i've read this year 10 out of 10
This book is so spicy maybe even spicier than fifty shades of grey specially chapter 16. The book dose start off a little slow in the story but dose get very good and the whole story line is very good as well. They should definitely make this a movie. 10 out of 10 book
