This allows the copper sheet to still be flexible, easy to cut with tin snips, and flexible but not rigid nor weak. It also looks much better than the crumpled/wrinkled look of the copper tape. For more permanent fixes, I'd recommend this copper sheet if you're fixing things like battery terminals for electronic devices.
