Rostra Precision Controls Cruise Control Kit compatible with 2012-15 Chevy Sonic Review: im in my mid 50's and have assembled/installed/built allot of things over the years and these instructions are some of the most incomplete and shoddy i've ever been subjected to. however Rostra's website is simple and concise. had unit installed in less than 1 1/2 hrs. most of this was due to the instructions and tying up the 404.7 feet of extra wire included in the harness.. for pete's sake, the kits are custom to specific vehicles. unless your planning on installing the switch in the backseat, they've got you covered on wire.. i could have cut and spliced the wires , but didnt want to do that with every wire. other than that the quality appears good. fit and finish is acceptable. everything clicked together well. works as it should, but will test it out next week on a 200 mile highway drive. i will update this review if there are issues,, Review: The unit works great and it was a pretty easy install. The only real issue was finding a spot under the dash to mount the unit itself. I got creative with zip ties and found a beam to attach it to. If it wasn’t December and freezing in my garage I might have found a better spot or attached it to, maybe the side wall with screws. But the wiring was simple the install of the control unit on steering column was simple as well.

The only dislike is not having the option for a dash mounted control since the steering wheel blocks the view no matter where I would of mounted it unless it was interfering with the multifunction switch (turn & wipers) but once you memorize the functions it makes a five hour drive better and less expensive than the $300+ steering wheel from GM then having to pay for the reflash. Have had no problems with CEL using the OBDII port but will eventually splice and soldier in later.

Easy to install with limited mechanical ability. The Chevy Sonic, however, has several purple and white wires that are shown in the diagram as the power wire. Just route the power wire to an alternative power source, such as an accessory fuse. Worked as advertised and comes on at 30 MPH. Would have preferred 25 MPH but it still worked great. Worth the money.

It is NOT an easy install. It took a long time re-wiring but at last it works I guess that is most important
