Probably the best Harddrive available in market. It's very slim. Very well built, nice exterior finish and very quiet. I've got 6 of these (1 & 2TB varients). They all work perfectly fine. Personally I prefer Seagate over WD is because of their included data protection recovery service. If something goes wrong I'm atleast getting a chance of covering data at the best possible facility (which generally costs a lot). The speeds are also what they claim. Heating hasn't been a problem for me so far. It gets warm which is common with any harddrive.

I have installed Fedora 44 KDE Workstation and the disk has not gone down since the day of purchase.

Cant say much, just bought it. Speed seems fine. From a price point , got it for 8870 post credit card offer, and think its reasonable especially after recent surge in prices globally for storage due to NAND and AI DCs. Lets hope for the best.

Given that my work involves handling a heavy load of image processing, I’ve had my fair share of “heart attack moments” with drive corruption in the past. That’s where the 3-year data recovery service feels less like a feature and more like emotional insurance. All in all, reliable, practical, and quietly reassuring, just don’t drop it and expect a superhero origin story. Setup? Plug, play, done. No drama.

I ordered this on January 18, 2026, and got delivery within just 2 hours - super fast! But the drive came in a plain envelope without any bubble wrap or box safety, even though it was a brand box inside. That was my mistake - I should have rejected it right away due to improper packaging. It worked fine initially, but on February 1st, it suddenly stopped working completely - wouldn't power on at all. When I contacted Amazon support, they said the return window was closed, so I had to file a warranty claim with Seagate. Contacted Seagate support - they first offered a refurbished replacement, which made no sense for a brand-new purchase. After a long discussion, they finally agreed to send a brand-new drive, but I had to ship the defective one to their Chennai office first. It took me 3-4 days to find a courier, but then I contact Seagate again and discussed and they said they provide free pickup services, so no extra cost there. However, the new drive would only ship 10 days after they receive the old one. The confirmation PDF didn't mention "new" - it only said used/refurbished, so doubt remained. I contacted Amazon again. The first agent started a return/refund but later refused saying the lead team denied it. Had a long call explaining the whole issue. They said if Seagate is denning for replace in that case i have to send Amazon an official mail from Seagate with denial of replacement and then only Amazon will refund me otherwise, they won't refund. It felt like a scam - seller is deliberately sending defective items with poor packaging. Checked reviews: multiple users had the exact issue - HDD failing within 15 days of purchase, no Amazon support, and Seagate sending refurbished drives despite high price paid. No choice but to proceed with Seagate's free pickup. But hours later, Amazon emailed that my return request was approved! Somehow, the item was returned successfully, and I got a full refund. IF YOU WANT TO BUY THIS ITEM FROM HERE THINK 100 TIMES. THE SELLER IS DOING SCAM. YOU CAN FIND MORE REVIEWS SIMILAR ISSUE HAPPENDED WITH THEM.

Works well with most of the laptop. It’s good to go product.

...just what I hoped for... I use this as a backup storage for my laptop. I teach a scripture class online for my church, and I have several power points. I'm able to store weekly PowerPoints with no issues. I have plenty of room to add many many more. I had no issues with the files transferring to the portable hard drive.

Si bien no sirve para jugar los juegos optimizados para el Series, si los puede almacenar, y solo los tienes que transferir a la memoria de la consola cuando los quieras jugar. Excelente opción si buscas una alternativa económica para almacenar tus juegos
