They might be race ready.
Night and day compared to stock. It’s a firm but not rough ride. Go down a wash board road with a fairly smooth ride. Didn’t see that speed bump no worries like it wasn’t even there with little to no rebound or bouncing in the cab. If I found a better shock I would buy a 5 point harness and a helmet and enter the Baja 500.

You not getting what you pay for!
You and I not getting what we pay for. NOT made in Germany any longer, neither is made in USA, but “assembled in Mexico”. Just paint Chinese shock absorber yellow and you got Bilstein.

Better performance.
Replaced my worn out struts on my 2010 Expedition with these, truck rides alot better. The ride is firm but smooth, handles alot better on the road.

The dampening rate is good but the rebound rate needs to be tuned
The dampening rate is good but the rebound rate needs to be tuned. It does not keep the wheel planted that well in choppy turns.

rear shocks great, front shocks horrible!
replaced all 4 shocks on my 2008 Navigator with Bilsteins. rear shocks as advertised, improved ride and comfort. Front shocks way to stiff, very stiff and harsh, no "give" on front. they raised front 1", enough to alter headlight beam. drove them 50 miles in city, country and highway. wife and I both agreed ride was aggravating and unpleasant because of front shocks. removed and replaced ($) fronts with stock shocks. now have our comfortable ride back.

Won't Work for Everyone
So first off, I have no doubt of the quality of the strut assembly. I have used Bilstein struts and shocks in the past and been very happy with them. *IF* this works for you it I'm sure it will be a quality part. I have Bilstein struts int he rear of my Expedition and like them. I wanted matching struts at all four corners, but ... they will not fit my truck and they may not fit yours. The reason for my three star review is poor parts supplying. Bilstein opts not to supply a lower spring perch for this strut. They do on many others, but not this one. If you have factory struts in good condition this isn't a problem. You remove your old one, put it on the Bilstein, and go about your business. If, however, your struts have ever been changed in the past you may have an aftermarket brand strut and perch which may not conform to factory measurements and will therefore NOT work on the Bilstein shocks. You may be left, like me, with your truck in the air, having to sit overnight, then being stuck buying more expensive, lower quality parts in a store just to get your truck back on the road, then having to return your shiny new Bilstein struts. You can see in my picture that the perch mount sits at a completely different point on the strut that came out of my truck (Monroe I think) vs the new Bilsteins. You may also notice that the diameter is different so that even if the mount was at the same height the perch would just drop right past it. I am not the first person to encounter this so Bilstein is undoubtedly aware of this issue and yet chooses to not provide a perch. As these trucks age it becomes increasingly likely that they are getting their second set of struts (mine is at 169k now, time for a second set). That means more and more people will be encountering this issue. Shame on Bilstein for cheaping out and leaving it's customers in difficult situations.

Would have been 5 stars if all parts were there
I had to drive 2 hours round trip to find a Nut and Washer since the parts package was not in the Box. Very frustrating. I couldn't return because I already had the truck apart ready for the new parts. The shocks are functioning extremely well though. Just beware of the provider when ordering these or check the box before installing.
