Works well, but quality could be better.
I bought two of these because I have two cats. They are definitely not high quality construction, but they've been in use non-stop for a month and are still working well and are still on their first set of batteries. I love that I no longer have to worry about whether the cats have been fed. I can sleep in, or come home late - doesn't matter, the cats are happy. Negatives are the flimsy construction, and like others have said, the D-sized batteries are too heavy for the cheap door. Mine fell off and a battery slipped out, so I lost the programming. Fixed this problem with a strong piece of tape, but I wouldn't move the feeders around too much. No food came out the first time the feeder operated. I think this was because there are little hoppers inside, which need to be filled. I programmed it to run through 3 or 4 times in quick succession, then set it to my normal schedule and have had no problems since.

Poor quality - breaks quickly
We have gone through three of these feeders as they just keep breaking. They start off fine but after a few uses food will get stuck in the turning piece which will cause it to jam. You have to constantly check to make sure food is coming out which defeats the purpose of an automatic feeder. After about 6 months each one of ours has completely stopped working. Very disappointed with this product .

It worked great for almost a month
I got this feeder for my cat because my boy friend and I were going on a trip for the weekend. It worked great for almost a month. However now it has complety stopped dispensing food. I have tried to reset it multiple times and it still doesn't work. Im just glad it stopped working while I was home and not during a weekend I was gone. If your looking for a reliable feeder this is not it.

Better for medium sized critters, but works well enough for smalls.
For the price, its great. However, if you are trying to feed small critters, who eat small kibble, it isn't as good as it could be. The feed amount is 1/4 cup and for small critters, say cats and chihuahuas, this is to large of a portion. The feeder drops PORTIONS based on programming. So, if you want to feed a reasonable amount a couple times a day, you really can't. There are 3 feeding times and at each time you can feed up to 3 cups in 1/4 cup increments. So, you either get too much food or not enough feeding times. Now, if you have a larger critter, say a spaniel or a medium sized breed like that, this would be a great feeder. Those sized critters need a little more food and this feeder would be great. One other gripe is the programming method. You have to step through all setting steps, time/feed1/feed2/feed3, to make any changes and it is tedious and seems a bit unnecessary given that it is just software. Overall, a good buy for small critters. But mostly because it is inexpensive.

Decent product
I've been using this for a few weeks so don't know how well it will hold up over time. It works well for the most part but has a few drawbacks. Once it starts getting low on food it creates a hole within the food where it drops down. The bottom of the container near the opening should be angled more. My cat missed a meal because of this. If you want to adjust anything with the settings, you have to reset the whole thing, not just that particular part. This wasn't a huge issue for me, just inconvenient.

GREAT FEEDER!!
Ordered this feeder in Dec of 2016 for my cat and after almost 3 yrs it is still performing just as it should. I've replaced the batteries twice. Great feeder and definitely comes in handy for our out of town trips. Hasn't let me down yet!

Timed feeder that cant keep time!!
Bought this feeder about 2 months ago for my cat since I have to travel frequently and she is left alone. one day i came home to my cat meowing like crazy and come to find out the timer wasn't feeder her or feeder her at different times than scheduled. after realizing this i started to pay attention to the feeding time and the clock which the timer is set on. I would set the clock and by the end of the day it would be 4 hours behind, than i noticed it would drop food sometimes twice within an hr when it was suppose to feed every 8 hrs. other times it would skip right over feedings. This products entire purpose of this product is for timed feeding and the clock cant even keep time. I would 100% not recommend this product because i don't trust that it'll feed my pet if i have to leave her alone.

Great Concept for a Sedate Pet
The concept is super but not the execution. . . .The battery cover is too flimsy for the weight of D-cell batteries and the food container ought to actually screw onto the base. We bought this for two inquisitive cats when we go away over the weekend. It was introduced to them without any food in the dish. Sure enough they both tried to reach up the chute to get to the cat food. However, they were unsuccessful and quickly bored of the idea. Then one of them jumped up on the top of the food container and the container popped off the base (the connection with the base is a very slight twist and stays loose) and we had cat food everywhere. It is nearly impossible to put it back together with any food in it, but we took it apart, cleaned up the mess and tried again, this time with a heavy weight on the top of the container hoping that would keep it intact. That's when we discovered the battery cover had come apart when the food container had been knocked off and it had to be reprogrammed. The second time around, one of our cats -- who can open closed doors -- decided to jump against the side of the food container. Off came the container, weight and all. And sure enough, the battery cover was off again. This time, we cleaned it up and packed it back into its box and returned it. I suspect it would be a good solution for an elderly single cat. The ability to program it for multiple meals in quarter cup increments is a really nice feature. But without some major modifications we couldn't figure out how to make it work with our "guys."
